With two years at Rutan & Tucker, and over 11 years of experience with the law firm of Paul Hastings LLP, Julie D. Schisler will continue her employment practice as a partner at Scott & Whitehead.
Ms. Schisler has successfully represented employers in a broad range of employment matters including claims for wrongful termination, employment discrimination, harassment, wage and hour, and breach of contract. Ms. Schisler has also assisted employers in defending administrative charges, single plaintiff lawsuits and arbitrations, and large wage and hour class actions.
Ms. Schisler guides clients' day-to-day compliance with workplace statutes and regulations, through development of employee manuals, personnel policies, and a variety of employment-related agreements. Ms. Schisler also trains human resources professionals, particularly with regard to compliance with FMLA and CFRA employee leave laws.
Ms Schisler received her Juris Doctor from the University of California, Los Angeles, in 1998. While attending UCLA, Ms. Schisler spent one semester clerking for Judge Harry L. Hupp in the U.S. District Court in Los Angeles. She graduated from the University of California, Irvine (magna cum laude) in 1995, where she majored in Criminology, Law, and Society, and minored in Psychology and Social Behavior.
Ms. Schisler earned recognition as a "Rising Star"-- one of the top 2.5% of young attorneys in Southern California--in the 2006, 2009, and 2010 editions of Southern California Super Lawyers. Ms. Schisler recently concluded her service as Chair of the Orange County Bar Association's Labor and Employment Law Section. |
